Location settings from older Android versions
As of Android 4.4 (Kitkat), the location settings significantly changed.
The information below is based on the location settings in Android 4.2 to 4.3 (Jellybean).
In this section:
Enables or disables Google location services, which determine your location using Wi-Fi and mobile networks.
Equivalent to setting Google location services, used in some (older) versions of Android.
Enables or disables the ability for apps to use GPS satellites to determine a precise location.
Controls whether Google services such as Google search are automatically granted the ability to know your current location.
Disables the warning notification shown when the device's compass is unavailable, seen only on some phones.
